Guruprasad Singh translates to: "The Lion who lives by the grace of the teacher."

It was given to him by his teacher, Yogi Bhajan, and speaks to the very human need of finding a guide or mentor who is able to help in times of trouble or confusion.

Guruprasad Singh (Jon Scheffres) has nearly 20 years' experience as a psychotherapist and a yogi and has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups throughout the country. In 2005, he founded GPS Integrative Therapies in Salt Lake City.

Guruprasad collaborates with clients to create break-through experiences of healing and growth using a combination of mind/body and nontraditional process techniques. His approach to healing and growth is transpersonal, deeply imaginative, and tailored to the needs of the individuals with whom he works.

Drawing on various sources including Western psychology and the powerful and practical discipline of Kundalini Yoga, Guruprasad leads clients to approach their conflicts, concerns and goals in a new light based on principles of Awareness, Discovery, and Integration.

Guruprasad graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors from Brandeis University with a BA in English and American Literature. He went on to complete a Masters program in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA in 1989. Guruprasad began his study of yoga and meditation in 1985. He has been teaching Kundalini Yoga since 1995 and became a KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor in 2006.
